*NFL WEEK 10 RECAP (2021 Season)

An outstanding win for Washington; nobody gave us a chance, and we rocked the NFL world.

Our offensive line held up pretty nicely against Tampa Bay’s edge rushers, allowing just a handful of hits on Heinicke. The Buccaneers’ defense threw everything they had on us, but Washington’s offense adjusted well.

There was plenty to like in this game from the offense; Antonio Gibson was effective running; he had 24 carries for 64 solid yards and a couple of catches. Terry McLaurin made some tough catches. Deandre Carter is now a legit red zone threat. I dig how they are slowly but surely getting John bates and Dax Milne more involved in the offense.

Masterful final scoring drive in the 4th quarter; going the field’s length with 19 plays for 10 whole minutes, followed by a bold, riverboat Ron 4th and 1 call to put the game away with a TD. Amazing stuff!

Defensively, this was the best game of the season for this unit. Tom Brady never looked comfortable and even began to whine and get frustrated like he usually gets when things don’t go his way. He is such a sore loser.

It felt like things came together for our defense, and they played like a cohesive unit. Casey Toohill filled in for Montez Sweat nicely, and Jamin Davis seems to be coming into his own as a linebacker. In addition, William Jackson III looked more comfortable, and the rest of the secondary had a terrific game.

Losing Chase Young for the season is a bummer. Plus, Ricky Seals-Jones got banged up and is now listed as questionable for next week. I really hope we get Darryl Roberts, Curtis Samuel, and Logan Thomas on the field soon.

Next week, Ron Rivera returns to Carolina with Cam Newton as the starter. This will be a tough challenge for Washington; neutralizing Cam and Christian McCaffrey will be crucial for any chance to win this game.

A victory against Carolina could potentially set Washington up for a late-season run, especially with 5 divisional games remaining in the schedule. Advantage, Washington.

WFT 29 — BUCCANEERS 19

COWBOYS 43 — FALCONS 3

Another lucky break for this overrated team. The subplot here was the return of former head coach Dan Quinn to the team that fired him. I don’t really put any stock on this win. Next up, 7-2 Dallas visits an improving 6-4 Kansas City team. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

The Falcons are an enigma; they look formidable one week and awful the following week. Next up, Atlanta host New England on Thursday Night Football. Advantage, New England Patriots.

EAGLES 30 — BRONCOS 13

Jalen Hurts slowly but surely, coming into his own as a duel threat QB; He constantly finds solid chunks of yards when scrambling. As a result, defenses have to come up with specific game plans to contain him better. Next week, Philly hosts New Orleans. Advantage, New Orleans Saints.

The main story for Denver should be the absence of OC Pat Shurmur due to Covid. The Broncos did not look like the same team from week 9 without Shurmur calling plays. Next week, Denver has their bye week.

49ERS 31 — LA RAMS 10

Man, San Francisco looked formidable here. The defense was dominant, pressuring Matt Stafford and making him uncomfortable for most of the game. The offense was on fire; Elijah Mitchell carried the ball an impressive 27 times for 91 yards. Debbo Samuel was unstoppable with 2 TDs for a combined total of 133 yards of both rushing and receiving. Next week, San Francisco visits a scrappy Jacksonville team. Advantage, San Francisco 49ers.

The Rams could not get anything going offensively — and for some strange reason, they got away from the run game for a combined 9 carries and 51 yards for both Sony Michel and Darrell Henderson JR. No reason to panic…yet. Bad games such as this one are bound to occur from time to time in the NFL. Next week, the Rams have their bye week

CHIEFS 41 — RAIDERS 14

This game was closer than the final score suggests. It was 17-14 midway through the 3rd quarter until the Chiefs exploded all over the Raiders, scoring 24 unanswered points. And on top of all of the offensive firepower, Kansas City’s defense also stepped up big-time. This was a crucial divisional win, and it might just be the turning point for the Chiefs this season. Next week, Kansas City will host overrated Dallas. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

The Raiders have lost two games in a row and are finding themselves in a tough spot in their AFC WEST division. However, they still have 3 divisional games remaining and a shot at making the playoffs as a wildcard. Next week, Las Vegas hosts the 5-4 Cincinnati Bengals. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders.

PANTHERS 34 — CARDINALS 10

Cam Newton returned and scored 2 TDs back to back in the 1st quarter. Carolina seemed inspired by the mere presence of Cam in the lineup. The Panthers are now 5-5 and could potentially make a late-season run for a wildcard spot. Next week, Carolina welcomes back Ron Rivera. Advantage, the Washington Football Team.

Colt McCoy could not duplicate his success from week 9 against San Francisco. Carolina had a solid game plan, and Arizona could not adjust or establish their run game to give McCoy a better chance to make things happen. Next week, Arizona visits the 3-6 Seattle Seahawks. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

VIKINGS 27 — LA CHARGERS 20

The Vikings save their season yet again by getting more aggressive with their offense. Kirk Cousins finally found ways to spread the ball around to his receivers, especially to 2nd-year receiver Justin Jefferson who ended up 143 yards. Also, Dalvin Cook ran effectively for 94 yards and 1 TD. Next week, Minnesota has a season-defining game hosting Green Bay. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

The Chargers are having a hard time putting together back-to-back wins as they did early in the season. At 5-4, they are starting to lose ground in the AFC WEST. Next week, LA hosts a Pittsburgh team with the possibility of no Big Ben. Advantage, LA Chargers.

BILLS 45 — NY JETS 17

After a stinker on week 9, Buffalo had a huge bounce-back game against a divisional foe. Josh Allen was impressive, spreading the ball around to receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis for a combined 267 yards. Nest week, Buffalo hosts 5-5 Indianapolis Colts. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

Mike White mania came to an end after throwing 4 picks and struggling to get anything going. Joe Flacco came in late in the game to finish up a scoring drive; maybe Flacco should get a chance to start the next game. The Jets are a complete mess and have no clue who will be starting at QB on week 11. Next week, the NY Jets hosts divisional rival Miami. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

PACKERS 17 — SEAHAWKS 0

Anti-vaxxer Aaron Rodgers returned as the starting QB — Rodgers was shaky for most of the game; he had to rely heavily on the run to move the offense. AJ Dillon ended up with 168 yards and 2 TDs to carry Green Bay to victory. Next week, Green Bay visits a needy 4-5 Minnesota team. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

Russell Wilson was obviously rusty throwing 2 costly picks and struggled to get his offensive weapons involved. It was an ugly and messy game for a 3-6 Seattle team sitting at the bottom of the NFC WEST. Next week, Seattle hosts 8-2 Arizona. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

PATRIOTS 45 — BROWNS 7

I did not see this coming, New England dominated Cleveland in all aspects of this game. Mac Jones had one of his better games of the season with 3 TDs. New England is now right in the middle of a playoff hunt. Next up, New England visits a banged up 4-5 Atlanta Falcons team. Advantage, New England Patriots.

Cleveland could not protect Baker Mayfield for most of the game — Baker was under fire for most of the game and exited due to injury after sustaining multiple hits. This was an embarrassing loss for this Cleveland team with Super Bowl aspirations. Next up, Cleveland should bounce back hosting winless Detroit. Advantage, Cleveland Browns.

DOLPHINS 22 — RAVENS 10

The Dolphins are officially on a two-game winning streak, and they are getting things done mostly on defense. This is the version of Miami I expected to see this season. Tua has moments of solid QB play but continues to be inconsistent. The remaining schedule looks positive for Miami, and they could potentially make a run at a wildcard spot. Next week, Miami visits their division rival NY Jets. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

The Ravens were ineffective in all areas of this game. Miami constantly pressured Lamar Jackson. Plus, Baltimore’s running game was never a factor. Next week, Baltimore visits Justin Fields and the 3-6 Chicago Bears for what should be a very close game. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

TITANS 23 — SAINTS 21

I cannot overstate how impressed I’m with Tennessee, their six-game winning streak, and how well they have adjusted to life without Derrick Henry. The Titans are a dangerous team that continues to find ways to win tight games. Next up, 8-2 Tennessee hosts 1-8 Houston. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

Trevor Siemian is actually playing pretty well for New Orleans, but the absence of Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas has affected the overall offensive outlook of this team. The remaining schedule for New Orleans is a mix of some very tough games and some winnable games. Next up, New Orleans visits 4-6 Philadelphia. Advantage, New Orleans Saints.

COLTS 23 — JAGUARS 17

The Colts need to continue to ride Jonathan Taylor into the post-season; Taylor has been the driving force behind the Colts’ recent success and their two-game winning streak. However, those victories came against pretty awful teams. Next week, 5-5 Indianapolis visits 6-3 Buffalo. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

The Jaguars took Indianapolis to the limit and made this game close. Jacksonville is slowly finding a rhythm and will probably finish the season feeling better about their future. Next week, Jacksonville hosts a resurgent 4-5 San Francisco team. Advantage, San Francisco 49ers.

LIONS 16 — STEELERS 16

We had our first and hopefully our last tie game of the season. Detroit cannot catch a break, and it must be heartbreaking for their fandom to see their team winless this deep in the season. The thing is, the Lions are actually not as awful as their record suggests. Next week, Detroit visits a deeply wounded and vulnerable Cleveland team. Advantage, Cleveland Browns.

Mason Rudolph filling in for Big Ben has been good but not great. The Steelers need to focus on the running game until Roethlisberger returns. Next week, Pittsburgh visits Justin Herbert in LA. Advantage, LA Chargers.

*NFL WEEK 9 RECAP (2021 Season)

Well, we have reached the midway point of the 2021 season, and Washington’s record is a sad 2-6.

To be clear, I did not see this coming. I expected Washington to have a winning record by this point of the season. So, yes, this is shocking.

I realized now that losing Ryan Fitzpatrick in the first game of the season was the canary in the coal mine for Washington.

Taylor Heinicke has had some good moments and some pretty awful ones, but it is not all on him. The entire team has underperformed.

However, the biggest disappointment has been how inconsistent this defense has performed in these first 9 weeks. Chase Young and Montez Sweat were supposed to be a dominant two-punch combo, but they have not lived up to the hype.

In retrospect, it was stupid to let Ryan Kerrigan go; his veteran experience is needed. However, moving Landon Collins to a hybrid role between linebacker slash safety seems to be the right move.

Antonio Gibson has been dealing with a shin injury for weeks now, limiting his ability to contribute in the run and pass game. But, when healthy, I’m convinced that he will be a dynamic offensive weapon.

Brandon Scherff has been out for a while, and so has Logan Thomas. We also just recently added Center Chase Roullier to IR. Those are crucial missing pieces to the offense.

Plus, the kicking game has been a disaster. We released Dustin Hopkins and brought in Chris Blewitt, but it hasn’t made much difference — the kicking issues and inconsistencies have remained. So we just cut bait with Blewitt and signed Joey Slye.

Our free agent signings have not worked out as well as we hoped. William Jackson III hasn’t been the shutdown corner we thought we were getting. Bobby McCain has not been as impactful as I expected him to be. Curtis Samuel has been hurt through most of this season and hasn’t seen much playtime.

On top of all that, we have the front office controversies. Plus, the pending congressional investigation regarding the toxic workplace culture created by Snyder and his lackeys.

And here we are, finding ourselves at 2-6 and taking on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in our first game back. Of course, nobody gives us a chance, but you never know; this game could be the one game where the combination of a solid game plan and desperation meet up to pull off the upset.

COWBOYS 16 — BRONCOS 30

The Broncos put a beating on the overrated Cowboys; Denver ran the ball effectively with their running backs Javonte Wiliams and Melvin Gordon III, for a combined 38 carries and 191 rushing yards. Denver is a dangerous team, and at 5-4 could make things interesting in the AFC WEST. Next week, Denver hosts Philadelphia. Advantage, Denver Broncos.

I’ve been prophecizing the collapse of the Dallas Cowboys for a few weeks now, and they finally got exposed. Their defense is not elite, and their offense struggles to run the ball with a declining Zeke. Next week, Dallas hosts a dangerous Atlanta team. Advantage, Atlanta Falcons.

EAGLES 24 — LA CHARGERS 27

Justin Herbert had a bounce-back game here, throwing for over 350 yards with 2 TDs and zero picks. The Chargers are 5-3 and still on top of the AFC WEST, but they face a tough stretch in the schedule. Next up, LA hosts Minnesota for what should be a close game. Advantage, LA Chargers

Jalen Hurts seems to be getting more comfortable from week to week. Upcoming opponents will need to start scheming ways to neutralize Jalen’s scramble ability. Next up, Philadelphia visits Denver. Advantage, Denver Broncos.

NY GIANTS 23 — RAIDERS 16

Two late field goals in the 4th quarter made the difference in this game. The Giants have a solid defense, and they kept putting the offense in good spots throughout the game. At the end, NY managed to edge out the Raiders, stopping them from a comeback late in the 4th quarter. Next week, New York visits Tampa Bay. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Derek Carr threw 2 picks and struggled to get past a solid NY Giants defense. The Raiders need to start featuring Josh Jacobs better. 13 carries will not be enough to give Vegas a chance to win close games. Next week the Raiders hosts Kansas City for what should be a massive divisional game. Advantage, LA Raiders.

CHIEFS 13 — PACKERS 7

Nothing seems to be working for Kansas City, and even though they look awful on both defense and offense, they still manage to barely edge out this Green Bay team with no Aaron Rodgers. Next up, Kansas city visits the Raiders for a chance to climb up a spot in the AFC WEST. Advantage, Las Vegas raiders.

The Aaron Rodgers Covid fiasco continues to be the biggest story dominating sports media. Rodgers should be suspended, period. On top of that, Jordan Love was ineffective, making his first start in the NFL. However, Green Bay’s defense is pretty good, and they will keep them in close games. Still, things will not get easier for Green Bay without Rodgers. Next week, Green Bay hosts a rested Seattle team. Advantage, Seattle Seahawks.

CARDINALS 31 — 49ERS 17

I have been singing Colt McCoy’s praises for years now. For some background, I always preferred McCoy over Kirk Cousins when they were both in Washington. I think Arizona will be in good shape not to rush Kyler Murray back. Next week, Arizona hosts 4-5 Carolina. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

Jimmy G was effective for most of the game until he threw a pick late in the game and pretty much sealed any chances for a comeback. San Francisco needs to get Elijah Mitchell more involved; 8 carries for 36 yards is unacceptable. Also, San Francisco’s defense is not playing up to expectations. Next week, San Francisco hosts a wounded LA Rams team, looking to bounce back. Advantage, LA Rams.

JAGUARS 9 — BILLS 6

Jacksonville shocked the NFL world. The Jaguars’ defense stepped up and held Buffalo to field goals while making Josh Allen uncomfortable through most of the game. Next up, Jacksonville visits a surging Indianapolis team looking for a wildcard spot in the playoffs. Advantage, Indianapolis Colts

Josh Allen had his worst game of the season, but no reason to panic, rough games like this are bound to occur on any given Sunday in the NFL. Next up, Buffalo has an easy divisional game against the NY Jets. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

FALCONS 27 — SAINTS 25

Atlanta is alive in the NFC SOUTH at 4-4 and can potentially make a run for a wild card spot, a long shot, but within the realm of possibility. Next week, Atlanta visits the overrated Cowboys. Advantage, Atlanta Falcons.

The Saints self-destructed here with drops and penalties. Trevor Siemian was actually pretty good, and going forward; the critical factor will be for Siemian to get more comfortable with his receivers. Next week, New Orleans visits 7-2 Tennessee. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

BROWNS 41 — BENGALS 16

Well, Cleveland just saved their season and looked much better offensively without drama queen OBJ. Nick Chubb was on fire rushing for 137 yards and 2 TDs. Next up, Cleveland visits 5-4 New England. Advantage, Cleveland Browns.

I was surprised at how poorly Cincinnati played against a division rival. This loss is a significant setback for Cincinnati — and now they find themselves in last place in the AFC NORTH. Next up, Cincinnati has a much-needed bye week.

RAVENS 34 — VIKINGS 31

What a terrific back and forth game this was. Minnesota could contain Lamar Jackson from getting loose and scrambling for chances of yards. Even Le’veon Bell got some solid action in this game. Next week, Baltimore visits a disappointing but still dangerous Miami team. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens

Minnesota has now lost two close games back to back. They have bigger issues than QB play by Kirk Cousins, and the future of Mike Zimmer as head coach will depend on how they finish this season. Next week, Minnesota visits LA. Advantage, LA Chargers.

TITANS 28- LA RAMS 16

No Derrick Henry, no problem for Tennessee. It was rushing by committee here, and even recently signed Adrian Peterson rushed for a score. So I think Tennessee will be just fine without Derrick Henry. Next up, the Titans host New Orleans. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

Matt Stafford throwing costly picks was the main story here; however, their lack of effective running game was also an issue. The Rams have way too much firepower on offense to be this pathetic. Next, up, LA visits a 3-5 San Francisco team trying to save their season. Advantage, LA Rams.

DOLPHINS 17 — TEXANS 9

Finally, Miami won a game that they were supposed to win. Nobody expected Miami to be 2-7 this late in the season. Unfortunately, Miami’s victory will be short-lived. Next week they host an early week 10 game against Baltimore. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

The Texans are a disaster, and although they have some good moments on defense, they are still a mess of a team. Next week, Houston has their bye week.

PATRIOTS 24 — PANTHERS 6

New England looked formidable and reminded Sam Darnold that New England still owns him even though he is no longer with the NY Jets. Next week, 5-4, New England hosts another 5-4 Cleveland team. Advantage, Cleveland Browns.

No question that Sam Darnold looked awful in this game, but benching him will not solve all of Carolina’s issues. Next week, Carolina will have another rough outing visiting Arizona. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

COLTS 45 — NY JETS 30

This was a fun game to watch for me on Thursday night. Carson Wentz had an excellent game, throwing for 272 yards with 3 TDs and zero picks. Jonathan Taylor ran all over New York with 19 carries for 172 yards. Next up, Indianapolis hosts Jacksonville, fresh from a shocking win. Advantage, Indianapolis Colts.

Josh Johnson had some good moments here, but the Jets are a rebuilding team, and not much should be expected from them this season. Next up, the Jets hosts a wounded Buffalo team. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

STEELERS 29 — BEARS 27

This game came down to the last few seconds with a field goal — Chicago and their rookie QB unexpectedly tested Pittsburgh. But in the end, Big Ben led this offense effectively and got it done. Next week, Pittsburgh hosts winless Detroit. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Chicago Bears got robbed by some really awful referee calls. Nevertheless, I was impressed with Justin Fields QB play; He showed that he could take this team to the next level and dominate the NFC NORTH for years to come — of course, if they build around him properly. Next week, Chicago has their bye week.

*NFL WEEK 8 RECAP (2021 Season)

Another kick in the balls is what this game felt like.

To be clear, nobody expected the offense to be this incompetent, considering all the offensive talent assembled.

Taylor Heinicke is obviously not the answer to our offensive problems, but to be fair, he is not the main issue.

Logan Thomas, Washington’s star tight end, is on IR. New wide receiving weapons, Dwyami Brown and Curtis Samuel, have not been available to make a difference. Antonio Gibson, playing hurt and not effective. Brandon Scherff has been injured and in and out of games. Ryan Fitzpatrick was expected to be making positive things happen on offense, but who knows when he will be healthy enough to return. Even Adam Humphries has been underutilized; I think he would be more productive on the slot with Kyle Allen as QB.

There were some positives on offense; Jaret Patterson was more involved in the running game, pairing nicely with McKissic — we need more of them. Also, Deandre Carter is benefiting from all the extra attention Terry McLaurin gets by opposing defenses.

Clearly, the defense is playing better from week to week, but at this time, they cannot carry the offense on their own. I don’t like seeing Chase Young dropping back on coverage when instead, he should be unleashed on QBs more consistently.

There are rumors about Washington’s interest in Buffalo’s backup QB Mitch Trubisky — And that they are shopping Landon Collins around before the trade deadline.

Trubisky is an awful idea; I would rather see Cam Newton in Washington for a season instead of Trubisky.

And Landon Collins seems to be getting more comfortable with his new role as a hybrid LB slash Safety. So, no, Washington should keep Collins for the rest of the season.

I’ve seen people on Twitter turning on Ron Rivera, which is nuts. First of all, there are zero elite head coaches with NFL experience rushing to coach Washington under Daniel Snyder’s current ownership. So, let’s chill and allow this man to work.

It is mid-season, and not everything is lost. Week 9 is our bye week, and adjustments need to be made. On week 10, we will host Tom Brady. Nobody gives Washington a chance, but this game could turn things around for us.

WFT 10 — DENVER 17

NY GIANTS — CHIEFS

Kansas City won but won ugly. The Chiefs should start addressing some defensive and OL issues ASAP — They have got to get aggressive and trade for some help, especially on defense. Patrick Mahomes hasn’t looked comfortable for a few weeks now; maybe teams are scheming better against him than in previous seasons. Next week, Kansas City has a big test hosting Green Bay. Advantage, Green Bay Packers.

The NY Giants showed signs of life, but they keep finding ways to lose close games. Joe Judge and GM Gettleman will probably not survive this season. Next week, NY Giants hosts an inspired and rested Las Vegas Raiders team. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders.

EAGLES 44 — LIONS 6

Nobody should overreact here; Philly beat a pretty bad Detroit team. Next week, Philadelphia hosts a hungry-for-a-win LA Chargers team. Advantage, LA Chargers.

Detroit is slowly watching their season waste away at 0-5, and the risk of another winless season is now a real possibility. Next week, Detroit has their bye week.

COWBOYS 20 — VIKINGS 16

Cooper Rush replaced an injured Dak Prescott, and Dallas, shockingly, looked better than I expected with a backup QB. However, I’m not convinced that this Cowboys team is a contender — I think their competition has made things easier for them. Next week, Dallas will host 4-4 Denver. Advantage, Denver Broncos.

The Vikings gave away this game to Dallas; They let multiple red-zone scoring chances slip away and allowed Dallas and their inexperienced QB to beat them in the 4th quarter. Next week, Minnesota visits Baltimore. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

SAINTS 36 — BUCCANEERS 27

Trevor Siemian had to step in during the 2nd quarter for an injured Jameis Winston— and surprisingly, Siemian beat the defending super bowl champs by running an efficient offense. Winston might be out for the season. Next week, New Orleans hosts Atlanta, a dangerous division rival. Advantage, New Orleans Saints.

It seems like the Buccaneers cannot beat New Orleans during the regular season (Tampa bay lost twice during the regular season last year). No reason to panic…yet. Next week, Tampa Bay has their bye week.

LA RAMS 38 — TEXANS 22

The Rams led 38-0 by the 4th quarter and looked like a formidable Super Bowl contender, albeit against a hopeless Houston team. The Rams just traded for Von Miller, adding to their top defense and improving their Super Bowl chances. Next up, LA hosts Tennessee without Derrick Henry. Advantage, LA Rams.

The Texans are a complete disaster and looking to trade away a few of their top players before the trade deadline and start to build some draft capital for next year’s draft. Next up, Houston visits Miami, another 1-7 team. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

PACKERS 24 — CARDINALS 21

Aaron Rodgers went toe to toe with Kyler Murray and showed that he can still hang with the young guns of the NFL. However, Green Bay’s defense and recently signed Rasul Douglas was the real hero here with a game-ending interception in the last few seconds of the 4th quarter. Next week, Green Bay visits Kansas City and their suspect defense. Advantage, Green bay packers.

The Cardinals lost their first game of the season, and on top of that, Kyler Murray got injured in the final play of the game. His status is now questionable for next week’s game at San Francisco. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

NY JETS 34 — BENGALS 31

The Jets shocked the NFL world on week 8 — Mike White had a wild game, throwing for over 400 yards with 3 TDs and 2 picks. The NY Jets might actually be okay without Zach Wilson with Mike White and Joe Flacco for a while. Next week, the NY Jets visit Indianapolis. Advantage, Indianapolis Colts.

The Bengals took the NY Jets and their inexperienced backup QB lightly and paid dearly for it. There is no reason to panic. Next week, Cincinnati hosts the struggling Cleveland Browns. Advantage, Cincinnati Bengals.

STEELERS 15 — BROWNS 10

The Steelers have won three-straight games and are starting to make some noise in their AFC North division. Next week, Pittsburgh hosts the Chicago Bears. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

Baker Mayfield and his group of offensive weapons are simply not getting it done. I think it is just about time for Cleveland to start panicking and maybe even dump or trade some of their big-name players. Next week, Cleveland has a crucial divisional game against Cincinnati. Advantage, Cincinnati Bengals.

TITANS 34 — COLTS 31

The Titans winning this game came at the high cost of losing Derrick Henry for the season to a foot injury. Tennessee is scrambling for serviceable running backs, and they just signed Adrian Peterson. We will see how much the absence of Henry changes the outlook for the Titans. Next week, Tennessee visits the LA Rams. Advantage, LA Rams.

The Colts had multiple chances to run away with this game, but Carson Wentz continues to make costly mistakes which made the difference here. Next week Indianapolis hosts the 2-5 NY Jets. Advantage, Indianapolis Colts.

49ERS 33 — BEARS 22

Rookie running back Elijah Mitchell rushed for 137 yards and 1 TD to help lift San Francisco to 3-4 and give them some signs of life. Next up, San Francisco hosts Arizona with questions about the health of Kyler Murray. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

Justin Fields had some fantastic moments in this game, showing flashes of potential greatness. But, Chicago has got to invest and build around him. Next up, the Chicago Bears visits Pittsburgh on Monday Night. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

BUFFALO 26 — DOLPHINS 11

The Bills struggled for the first three-quarters of this game until they finally managed to pull away. Buffalo now has the top spot in the AFC EAST and will most likely win the division. Next week, Buffalo visits 1-6 Jacksonville. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

The Dolphins are one of the most disappointing teams of the 2021 season, and on top of it all, they have to deal with the constant trade talk for Deshaun Watson — which means that Miami might be done with Tua as their starting QB. Next week, Miami host Houston, another 1-7 team. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

PATRIOTS 27 — CHARGERS 24

New England found their groove on defense and made some crucial picks and defensive plays to make the difference in this game. Next week, New England visits Carolina. Advantage, New England Patriots.

The LA Chargers have now lost two games in a row, and their chances to win their division are starting to look unfavorably. Next week, LA visits Philadelphia. Advantage, LA Chargers.

SEAHAWKS 31 — JAGUARS 7

The Seahawks needed this win badly, albeit against a bad team; nevertheless, a win is a win in the NFL, and those do not come easy. Next up, Seattle has a much-needed bye week.

Jacksonville will probably not win another game until next season, but at least Trevor Lawrence is getting some solid NFL experience. Next up, Jacksonville host Buffalo. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

PANTHERS 19 — FALCONS 13

Sam Darnold had a bounce-back game here after getting benched on week 7. His stats weren’t very impressive, but he was effective and did not cost this team the game. Next week, Carolina hosts New England. Advantage, New England Patriots.

Atlanta could not duplicate their offensive success from weeks 6 and 7. Disappointingly, Kyle Pitts was kept to only 2 catches for 13 yards in the whole game. Next Week, Atlanta has a tough divisional game against New Orleans. Advantage, New Orleans Saints.

*NFL WEEK 7 RECAP (2021 Season)

Three consecutive losses are disgusting and embarrassing. However, the silver lining here is that this was the best game Washington has played from start to finish despite the loss.

I saw much better play from the defense, and I liked how the offense moved the ball multiple times into the red zone, and they were in scoring situations against a solid Packer defense — those were all positive signs. Plus, there was better play on special teams — all those things suggest to me that there is a chance to right the ship and that not all is lost this season.

I saw some exciting and good things that I hadn’t seen from the defense all season. They played better collectively but still missed tackles and allowed too many open targets for Aaron Rodgers in the secondary.

We left multiple scores out on the field by not executing crucial plays at the goal line. This is why it is essential to have a legit franchise QB — Look, I’m not making any excuses, but simply put, Heinicke is a backup QB who can be explosive at times. Notwithstanding, the schedule has been crucial for such an inexperienced NFL QB.

Antonio Gibson has been playing hurt with a shin fracture, which explains the struggles with the running game as of late. But they need to start featuring Patterson and McKissic a lot more and take away some of the risky play from Heinicke.

Rivera going for it on all of those goal-line 4th downs was infuriating. The game would’ve been closer if we had scored at least field goals. We needed to see what we have with this new kicker.

Next Sunday, Washington has a unique opportunity to get some momentum by beating Denver and heading into their bye week on a positive note. Adavantage, Washington.

WFT 10 — PACKERS 24

NY GIANTS 25 — PANTHERS 3

The Giants got a lucky break catching a Carolina team rattled with injuries and no Christian McCaffrey. Danny Dimes had a Philly special type of highlight catch. New York’s defense played an inspired game, keeping Carolina from scoring TDs. Next up, New York has a short week and will host Patrick Mahomes on Monday night. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

Sam Darnold got benched in the 4th quarter. The Panthers started 3-0 and were looking pretty good; however, OL injuries and Christian McCaffrey’s loss have changed this team’s offensive outlook. Next up, Carolina has a divisional game at Atlanta. Advantage, Atlanta Falcons.

EAGLES 22 — RAIDERS 33

The Las Vegas Raiders have won two straight games and look like a brand new team without Jon Gruden. Derek Carr seems to be playing inspired and loose. Rich Bisaccia has this team looking like a contender. Next week, Las Vegas has its bye week.

The Eagles are struggling to get anything going. Jalen Hurts shows flashes of his potential, but the combination of lack of talent around him, injuries, and ineptitude from the coaching staff is reflected on their 2-5 record. Next week, Philadelphia visits a winless Detroit team hungry for a win. Advantage, Detroit Lions.

LA RAMS 28 — LIONS 19

The LA Rams got rocked from the very start of the game by trick plays from Detroit, but good teams know how to keep their composure, and they find ways to win. The Rams defense was pushed hard by a scrappy Lions team looking for their first win. Next week, LA visits a messy Houston Texans team. Advantage, LA Rams.

Detroit seemed inspired by the return of Jared Goff to LA — against the team that gave up on him. The Lions were very much into this game, but things got away from them in the 4th quarter. Next week, Detroit has an excellent chance to get their first win of the season hosting Philadelphia. Advantage, Detroit Lions.

TITANS 27 — CHIEFS 3

Man, this was a shocker. It felt like Tennessee pulled Kansas City’s pants down and spanked them. Derrick Henry was somewhat contained, but the threat of the run opened things up for everyone else. Next week, Tennessee visits the surging Indianapolis Colts. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

Kansas City’s lack of defense is a massive problem and a cause for immediate concern. Patrick Mahomes tries too hard to make things happen by forcing plays, costing them dearly in this game. Next up, Kansas City has a solid chance to get things going again by hosting the NY Giants. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

CARDINALS 31 — TEXANS 5

The Cardinals are rolling through every opponent and seem unstoppable at 7-0 for the season. Next up, Arizona will be tested by hosting the 6-1 Green Bay Packers. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals

The Texans are a disaster right now. Their best chance to get anything positive will depend on the return of Tyrod Taylor to the starting lineup. Next up, Houston takes on another dynamic team when hosting LA. Advantage, LA Rams.

BENGALS 41 — RAVENS 17

Joe Burrow and the Bengals have officially put everyone in the AFC NORTH on notice. The Bengals took over this game in the 4th quarter and never looked back. Cincinnati is now 5-2 and has 2 game division lead. Next week, Cincinnati visits the 1-5 NY Jets. Advantage, Cincinnati Bengals.

Lamar Jackson was a one-person show against Cincinnati, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Baltimore’s injuries. The lack of a balance in the running game and spotty secondary play are things to worry about if Baltimore wants to make a deep playoff run. Next up, Baltimore has their bye week.

BUCCANEERS 38 — BEARS 3

Tampa Bay completely dominated this game and made things miserable for Chicago. Tom Brady recorded his 600 career TD, and Tampa Bay now moves to 6-1. Next up, Tampa Bay has a divisional game against New Orleans. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bears cannot protect Justin Fields, and the risk of ruining this kid’s career is pretty high if he continues to start games this season. Andy Dalton needs to return to the starting lineup soon. Next up, Chicago hosts San Francisco. Advantage, San Francisco 49ers.

PATRIOTS 54 — NY JETS 13

The Patriots ran up the score on their division rival. This doesn’t surprise me; it is straight out of Belicheater’s playbook. Next week, New England visits a rested Chargers team. Advantage, LA Chargers.

This game was a disaster for the Jets. Zach Wilson had to come out of the game in the 2nd quarter with a knee injury. Their backup QB Mike White is another rookie, which is insane — How can an NFL team not have a veteran QB in their roster to mentor a young developing rookie?. Well, the Jets addressed this issue by trading for Joe Flacco. Next week, the Jets will probably start Flacco against Cincinnati. Advantage Cincinnati Bengals.

BROWNS 17 — BRONCOS 14

Case Keenum started this game replacing injured Baker Mayfield — Keenum managed the game effectively, relying heavily on the run game. Third-stringer D’Ernest Johnson had a breakout game against a strong Denver defense, rushing for 146 yards and 1 TD. The Browns will need to follow a similar game plan until Mayfield returns. Next week, Cleveland has a massive divisional game hosting Pittsburgh. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

Denver was supposed to have a strong defense this season, but injuries are piling up, and even Von Miller is banged up. However, the Broncos are still a dangerous team offensively with Terry Bridgewater, Jerry Judy, and Melvin Gordon III. Next week, Denver host a Washington team in desperate need of a morale-boosting victory. Advantage, Washington.

FALCONS 30 — DOLPHINS 28

Atlanta is quietly finding its way out of what seemed a mess of a season by putting together back-to-back wins. Matt Ryan, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Kyle Pitts are clicking and will start to make some noise in the NFC SOUTH. Next week, Atlanta has a chance to pull closer in their division hosting Carolina. Advantage, Atlanta Falcons.

The Dolphins were supposed to be a playoff team this season. But, inconsistencies on defense, Tua’s constant picks, and all the trade rumors surrounding Deshaun Watson are putting Miami’s season in peril. Next week, Miami visits the division-leading Buffalo. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

COLTS 30 — 49ERS 18

Carson Wentz had an impressive game, relying heavily on the run game with Jonathan Taylor and spreading the ball around to his play-making receivers. The Colts have a good defense and are now 3-4; they could make a run at a possible wildcard spot this season. Next week, Indianapolis hosts division-leading Tennessee. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

Rookie running back Elijah Mitchell had a breakout game rushing for over 100 yards and a TD. Deebo Samuel was elite as usual, with 100 yards receiving and 1 TD. But disappointingly, Jimmy G had a stinker of a game. Next week, San Francisco should have an easy game against a mess of a Chicago Bears team. Advantage, San Francisco 49ers.

SAINTS 13 — SEAHAWKS 10

Although new Orleans won this close game by a field goal, they should be concerned with how inefficient they were against a Seattle team with no Russell Wilson and many backups. Next week New Orleans hosts Tom Brady and company. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Seahawks will struggle with Geno Smith running the offense, and they are seriously in danger of not making the playoffs if Russell Wilson doesn’t return soon. Next week, Seattle hosts Jacksonville. Advantage, Seattle Seahawks.

*NFL WEEK 6 RECAP (2021 Season)

It was the story of two halves here. In the first half, we were looking good, leading the score 13-10 and even getting turnovers, forcing Mahomes to throw 2 picks.

But the second half was another story; it was a story of ineptitude on all sides of the ball.

The defense committed multiple penalties that Kansas city capitalized on; It allowed 21 points in the second half of the game, which is tough for a Washington offense not currently set up to come from behind, especially under high deficits.

Dustin Hopkins kicking struggles are officially a problem. The amount of missed Field Goals and extra points is piling up, taking away momentum from the team.

The offense was expected to have a better game against a suspect Kansas City defense. Taylor Heinicke had a rough game; he looked static and lacked the fire we have seen in previous games. Again, we got away from the run with a combined 18 carries between McKissic and Gibson for 89 yards. We only gave Jaret Patterson 1 carry for 5 yards. Washington has to commit harder to the run game and take some of the pressure off Heinicke.

Ricky Seals-Jones continues to impress me; He ended with 58 yards receiving with 1 T.D. I’m looking forward to having him paired with Logan Thomas after week 8 or 9.

Adam Humphries on the slot should be a more consistent option, and this is not the case. Targeting Humphries more often as a slot option will open things up for Terry McLaurin and Dyami Brown.

Rookie linebacker Jamin Davis had a breakout game — He showed some pretty good speed, and you can see why he was drafted high, but he needs more time to develop.

I get the sense that the defense is slowly beginning to get more comfortable with each other and with the new players added in free agency and through the 2021 draft. Admittedly, they have not played as a cohesive unit in this first 6 weeks of the season like they did last year, but I did notice a slight improvement in their chemistry, well, at least in the first two-quarters of this Chiefs game.

Next week, Washington takes on another elite Q.B. in Aaron Rodgers and his high-powered Green Bay offense. We have got to throw everything we got into this game and figure out ways to contain Rodgers. We cannot continue to fall behind in games. This team is best suited to play with a lead. Advantage, Washington pulls the upset.

WFT 13 — CHIEFS 31

EAGLES 22 — BUCCANEERS 28

Injury-riddled Tampa Bay continues to find ways to win tight games. It was great seeing how O.J. Howard is back in the mix and getting some targets. The Buccaneers still have an explosive offense to keep them in close games, and their upcoming schedule looks pretty winnable. Next week, Tampa Bay hosts 3-3 Chicago. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jalen Hurts starting to show me some flashes of just how dynamic he can become. But, unfortunately, Philly lacks the weapons around him to take this team to the next level this season. Next week, Philadelphia visits an inspired and re-energized 4-2 Raiders team. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders.

NY GIANTS 11 — LA RAMS 38

The Rams scored 38 unanswered points, which says it all. It was complete and total domination from L.A. The Rams are now 5-1 and looking forward to their week 13 rematch with Arizona. Next, up, L.A. welcomes back Jared Goff. Advantage, LA Rams.

The Giants are beginning to unravel before our eyes. This was an embarrassing loss for N.Y., especially for what was supposed to be a strong defense. Next up, N.Y. Giants hosts a scrappy Carolina 3-3 team. Advantage, Carolina Panthers.

COWBOYS 35 — PATRIOTS 29

The Cowboys beat a bad team that cannot win games at home. This overtime victory is another mirage; Dallas is not a good team and will crumble soon enough. Next week, Dallas has a bye week. Their return game will be against Minnesota. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

New England seems to be all in on Mac Jones and willing to sacrifice this 2021 season to get him some NFL experience. Cam Newton would have won close games like this one. Next week, New England rematches the 1-4 N.Y. Jets. Advantage, New England Patriots.

TITANS 34 — BILLS 31

Derrick Henry continues to be the driving force behind Tennessee’s offensive success, rushing for 143 yards and 3 TDs. Finding ways to slow Derrick Henry down is going to be the key to beating Tennessee. Ryan Tannehill’s stats may not look too impressive; however, he was effective when it mattered, even scoring a TD on a 4-yard run. Next up, Tennessee host Kansas City. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

The Bills were supposed to have a solid defense, but they could not contain Derrick Henry. It all came down to a 4th and 1 play at the goal line, which Josh Allen failed to gain enough penetration on the QB sneak for the 1st down. Head coach Sean McDermott should have gone for the field goal attempt and taken this game into overtime. Buffalo has their bye week next. And following their week 7 break, they will have an easy road ahead against Miami, Jacksonville, and N.Y. Jets

CARDINALS 37 — BROWNS 14

The Cardinals are officially the best team in the NFL and the only undefeated team at 5-0. Kyler Murray now has 3 excellent receiving weapons in Deandre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and a resurgent A.J. Green. Next up, Arizona hosts a struggling Houston team. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

Cleveland had a rough Sunday, and the hype train is starting to derail right before our eyes. The Browns at 3-3 are beginning to fall behind in the extremely tight AFC NORTH. Next up, Cleveland hosts an inconsistent Denver team. Advantage, Cleveland Browns.

RAIDERS 34 — BRONCOS 24

Rich Bisaccia got it done in his debut as Raiders interim head coach. All of the top offensive weapons for Vegas stepped up and had solid performances, especially Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller, and Henry Ruggs III. Next week, Vegas hosts a struggling Philadelphia team. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders.

The Broncos are now on a three-game losing streak and starting to fall in their division. Next week, Denver visits a wounded Cleveland team hungry for a win. Advantage, Cleveland Browns.

VIKINGS 34 — PANTHERS 28

Anti-vaxxer Kirk Cousins is getting it done for Minnesota, throwing for 373 yards with 3 T.Ds and zero picks. Dalvin Cook had a monster game with 29 carries for 140 yards and a score. The Vikings have now won two games in a row and building some momentum heading towards a tough stretch in the schedule. Next week, Minnesota has a bye week.

The Panthers, without Christian McCaffrey, continue to struggle, losing three straight games. The silver lining is that all those losses have been close games. Next week, Carolina visits a disappointing 1-5 N.Y. Giants team. Advantage, Carolina Panthers.

RAVENS 34 — CHARGERS 6

Baltimore launched a ground attack that L.A. had no idea how to slow down. The rushing combination of Devonta Freeman, Latavius Murray, Le’Veon Bell, and Lamar Jackson combined for 166 yards and 3 TDs. The Ravens are now 5-1 and looking like an early Super Bowl favorite. Next week, Baltimore has a huge divisional game against the 4-2 Cincinnati Bengals. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

The Chargers got spanked badly here. This was the most shocking result of week 6. The good thing is that L.A. has a bye week to reflect on this game and get some much-needed rest.

STEELERS 23 — SEAHAWKS 20

The Steelers finally got Najee Harris involved, who rushed and received a combined total of 146 yards and a score. And T.J. watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Cameron Heyward were dsiruptive on defense. Pittsburgh needs to build on games like this one to challenge Baltimore and Cleveland for their division. Next up, Pittsburgh has their bye week.

The Seahawks without Russell Wilson took Pittsburgh to overtime, and Geno Smith looked pretty good, but Wilson’s dynamic play was missed. Alex Collins had an excellent game, rushing for 101 yards and a score. Next week, Seattle hosts an up and down New Orleans 3-2 team. Advantage, Seattle Seahawks.

JAGUARS 23 — DOLPHINS 20

Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer got their first career NFL victory in London. However, it will probably be long until they win another game. Next week, Jacksonville has their bye week.

The Dolphins benched Jacoby Brissett over Tua for this game. Brissett has looked better moving Miami’s offense, but Brian Flores continues to push for Tua despite his struggles. Next week, Miami hosts a dangerous Atlanta team. Advantage, Atlanta Falcons.

PACKERS 24 — BEARS 14

Aaron Rodgers struggled to get the ball through the air, but elite QBs find ways to get it done. The Packers are now 5-1 and about to start a murderous row of tough teams in the schedule. Next week, Green Bay takes on a Washington team desperate to make a statement. Advantage, Washington Football Team.

The Bears kept Aaron Rodgers in check for most of the game, but Chicago is still a rebuilding team, and ultimately, they could not hang in with one of the best teams in the league. Justin Fields will be elite soon enough. Next week, Chicago takes on Tampa Bay and another elite QB in Tom Brady. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

COLTS 31 — TEXANS 3

The Colts keep their season alive with this win. Carson Wentz got in sync with T.Y. Hilton and Jonathan Taylor, showing flashes of how good this offense can eventually become. Next week, Indianapolis visits a rested 2-3 San Francisco team. Advantage, San Francisco 49ers.

The Texans are just a lousy team, and their only win came in week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, another lousy team. Davis Mills continues to struggle, and the whole team will struggle to get another win this season. Next week, Houston visits the seemingly unstoppable Arizona cardinals. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

BENGALS 34 — LIONS 11

in the battle of former number 1 overall picks, Joe Burrow out-dueled Jared Goff. The Bengals showed they have the makings of a well-balanced dangerous playoff team. Next week, Cincinnati visits division-leading Baltimore Ravens. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

Detroit is now in danger of completing another winless season, like the 2008 season. Next week, Detroit has a tough, awkward, and miserable game in L.A. Advantage, LA Rams.

*NFL WEEK 5 RECAP (2021 Season)

It was beyond distressing to watch our defense allowed score after score. I don’t know what Ron Rivera needs to do to address this problem, but this roster of top draft picks and big-name free agents has to start playing as a cohesive unit ASAP.

The lackluster effort to defend the hail mary throw by Jameis Winston at the end of the 2nd quarter was embarrassing.

The offense was inconsistent. Heinicke had a rough game throwing zero TDs and 2 picks. McKissick had 8 yards receiving and -1 rushing, a ridiculous stat for such a dynamic player.

Week to week, Antonio Gibson continues to be our best offensive weapon. In addition, veteran receiver slash returner DeAndre Carter has emerged as a legitimate receiving threat to compliment Terry Mclaurin and Adam Humphries.

Ricky Seal-Jones is filling in nicely for Logan Thomas. But he needs to get more involved in the red zone.

Next Sunday, Washington hosts Kansas City. The Chiefs are a wounded team, with many deficiencies on defense. We should be able to move the ball and score on them; However, Patrick Mahomes might throw a party of our unreliable secondary; unless we make some urgent adjustments.

A win over Kansas City could go a long way to change the course of our season.

WFT 22 — SAINTS 33

COWBOYS 44 — NY GIANTS 20

Dallas has got to be the luckiest team in the entire NFL. Daniel Jones left the game in the 2nd quarter when the game was 10-14. On top of all of that, NY had no Saquon Barkley, and because of injuries, they had to play musical chairs on the OL. So the Cowboys got another lucky break. Next week Dallas visits New England. Advantage, New England Patriots.

I root blue twice a year when the NY Giants play Dallas (the team I despise the most). The Giants will have no chance this season without Danny Dimes and Saquon Barkley. Next week, NY hosts the LA Rams. Advantage, LA Rams.

EAGLES 21 — PANTHERS 18

The Eagles were able to hang on long enough for Carolina to self-destruct. Jalen Hurts showed how dynamic he could be with his legs. This was a massive win for Philly. Next up, Philly hosts Tampa Bay. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Not having McCaffrey and a banged-up OL is a big part of Carolina’s two-game losing streak. Sam Darnold threw 3 picks and looked shaky, trying to do way too much. Next up, Carolina hosts Minnesota. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

LA RAMS 26 — SEAHAWKS 17

The Rams played a well-balanced game here. Darrell Henderson Jr and Sony Michel combined for 117 yards with 28 carries. This was a solid bounce-back game for LA. Next week LA visits the NY Giants. Advantage, LA Rams

Seattle lost Russell Wilson to a finger injury — Geno Smith came in and looked pretty good. Wilson will be out for at least 4 weeks, which will be interesting to see how this will impact Russell Wilson’s future in Seattle at the end of the season. Next week, Seattle visits Pittsburgh. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

BUFFALO 38 — CHIEFS 20

This was supposed to be the most challenging game for Buffalo on the 2021 schedule, but the Bills made it look easy. Monster game for Josh Allen; he threw for over 300 yards with 3 TDs and rushed for 59 yards with 1 rushing TD. The Bills are looking like the best team in the NFL. Next up, Buffalo visits Tennessee. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

Patrick Mahomes losing Clyde Edwards-Helaire to injury early in the game made a huge difference here. And their defense could not figure out a way to stop Josh Allen. So it is time for Kansas City to press the panic button. Next up, Kansas City visits Washington. Advantage, WFT.

CHARGERS 47 — BROWNS 42

The LA Chargers might just be the surprise team of the year, and Justin Herbert is looking like an elite QB. They are now 4-1 and the clear-cut favorite to win the AFC WEST. Next week, LA visits Baltimore. Advantage, LA Chargers.

Cleveland threw everything they had on LA, turning this game into a wild shootout. Baker Mayfield had a great game, but a couple of crucial 3 and outs was the difference maker here. There is no reason to overreact with his loss; the Browns are still a dangerous playoff team. Next week, Cleveland hosts Arizona. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

CARDINALS 17 — 49ERS 10

Arizona was kept in check by a solid San Francisco defense. This game was close and came down to one score. The Cardinals are now 5-0 and looking like the most dangerous team in the NFC. Next week, Arizona visits Cleveland. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

San Francisco should not be too concerned with this 3-game losing streak, and Trey Lance will be lighting up the league soon enough. Kyle Shanahan has a better version of RGIII in his offense. Next week, San Francisco has their bye week.

BUCCANEERS 45 — DOLPHINS 17

It was a career day for Tom Brady, throwing over 400 yards with 5 TDs and zero picks. The Bucs are putting together solid wins and putting themselves in a position to run away with the NFC SOUTH. Next up, Tampa Bay visits Philly. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brian Flores had a history of having Brady’s number, but Brady threw a party on Miami this time around. Jacoby Brissett needs to get some better help from the running game to have a chance at winning some games this season. Next up, Miami goes to London to take on the winless Jaguars. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

BEARS 20 — RAIDERS 9

Chicago is alive and well in the NFC North at 3-2. Justin Fields didn’t have to do much to win this game. Chicago controlled this game by rushing the ball effectively and limiting any potential mistakes by their rookie QB. Next week, Chicago hosts Green Bay. Advantage, Green Bay Packers.

Well, Jon Gruden is out as the head coach, and things will not be pretty for Raider Nation from now on. Also, The Raiders should be highly concern about their lack of running game and defensive woes. They have lost 2-straight games and risk falling behind in the AFC WEST. Next week, Las Vegas visits Denver. Advantage, Denver Broncos.

VIKINGS 19 — LIONS 17

The Vikings barely survived to win this game with a 54-yard field goal with a few seconds left in the game to save their season. Next week, Minnesota visits Carolina. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

This was a heartbreaking loss for Detroit, and they are now 0-5. They need to find ways to put together some wins and build towards next season. Next week, Detroit hosts Cincinnati. Advantage, Cincinnati Bengals.

FALCONS 27 — NY JETS 20

Matt Ryan and Kyle Pitts are starting to click, and Atlanta has life at 2-3 for the season. Next up, Atlanta has their bye week.

The NY Jets put together some scoring drives late in the game to make things interesting, but Atlanta is just better than their record shows. Next up, the NY Jets have their bye week.

TITANS 37 — JAGUARS 19

Tenessee will most likely win the AFC SOUTH, and Derrick Henry continues to dominate on the ground, rushing for 130 yards with 3 TDs. Next up, Tennessee hosts Buffalo on Monday night. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

Jacksonville is 0-5, but not all is lost. They seem to be getting better QB play from Trevor Lawrence every week. The critical factor here is RB James Robinson; Jacksonville needs to continue to get him more involved as they did in this game. Next up. Jacksonville stays in London to take on Miami. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

PATRIOTS 25 — TEXANS 22

New England struggled, and it took a field goal in the final seconds of the 4th quarter to pull away and secure the win. Unfortunately, Mac Jones is not looking as good as he did early in the season. Next week, New England Hosts Dallas. Advantage, New England Patriots.

Houston let this game getaway. Davis Mills had an effective game throwing for over 300 yards with 2 TDs and zero picks. New England kept Houston’s running game in check for most of the game, but WR Chris Moore stepped up from the practice squad to put up some impressive numbers. Next week, Houston visits Indianapolis. Advantage, Indianapolis Colts.

PACKERS 25 — BENGALS 22

Missed field goals were the big story here. Mason Crosby missed 3 field goals and finally made a 49-yarder to put this game away. The Packers are now 4-1 and on top of the NFC NORTH. Next up, Green Bay visits Chicago, Advantage, Green bay Packers.

Joe Burrow and Ja’marr Chase are becoming a dangerous combination. Cincinnati is now 3-2 and still in a good spot to challenge for the AFC NORTH. Next up, Cincinnati visits the 0-5 Lions. Advantage, Cincinnati Bengals.

STEELERS 27 — BRONCOS 19

Big Ben got some much-needed help from the running game, and it made a huge difference. Najee Harris rushed for 122 yards, and because of this, the rest of the offense was more effective. Next week Pittsburgh hosts Seattle without Russell Wilson. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Broncos have lost 2 games in a row, and their schedule is about to get a little tougher with upcoming games against Vegas, Cleveland, Washington, and Dallas in the next 4 weeks. However, Denver has some good pieces on both offense and defense to make things interesting. Next week, Denver hosts Las Vegas Riders without Jon Gruden. Advantage, Denver Broncos.

RAVENS 31 — COLTS 25

It was a thrilling Monday night game. Baltimore got hot in the 4th quarter, putting up 16 unanswered points to take this game into OT. The AFC NORTH is becoming as competitive as the AFC WEST. Next up, Baltimore hosts the LA Chargers. Advantage, LA Chargers.

The Colts kicker, Rodrigo Blankenship, is one of the most reliable kickers in the league; however, he was dealing with a hip injury throughout most of the game, which cost him to miss a few kicks, and ended up making all the difference in the final score. Next up, Indianapolis hosts Houston. Advantage, Indianapolis Colts.

*NFL WEEK 4 RECAP (2021 Season)

The Washington Football Team wins 34-30. This was a make-or-break game for Washington, a game that could have sent our season spiraling down a black hole of misery. However, Washington found a way to win — it wasn’t a pretty win, but in the NFL, wins are hard-to-come and this was a must-win for us.

The legend of Taylor Heinicke continues with a solid performance, throwing for 290 yards with 3 TDs and zero picks. Terry McLaurin and JD McKissic are playing at an elite level. They are both making spectacular, game-changing plays.

I sense we have something special brewing in our offense. I was happy to see key players like Adam Humphries, Dyami Brown, Curtis Samuel, and Ricky Seal-Jones getting more targets… we just need to get them more involved, and this offense will be special.

It was a bummer to lose Logan Thomas early in the game; I hope his injury is not severe and can come back soon. If Thomas is a no-go for next week, then expect Ricky Seals-Jones to get more targets, and I don’t think they will activate Sammis Reyes just yet. Also, Brandon Scherff is banged up and will be out for 2-3 weeks — it seems like our OL depth will be tested earlier than I expected.

Our Defense is obviously not playing up to the level we all predicted. But our secondary seems to be the biggest issue here. We are getting killed through the air, and the entire secondary is out of sync, and they have become our weakest link; they are not playing as a cohesive unit, and this needs to be addressed immediately.

We lost Jon Bostic and Terry McTyer for the season. We will see how Ron Rivera adjusts the defense around these two losses.

Washington is now 2-2 and about to go through a murderous row of dangerous teams. Next up, we host an inconsistent 2-2 New Orleans Saints loaded with talent. The Football team needs to win this game convincingly. Advantage, Washington.

WFT 34 — FALCONS 30

and for the rest of the NFL…..

COWBOYS 36 — PANTHERS 28

Dallas caught Carolina without some of their crucial weapons and still struggled to pull away. Nevertheless, Dallas’s record is a mirage; they will crumble soon enough. Next week, Dallas hosts the NY Giants. Advantage, Dallas cowboys.

Carolina will continue to struggle without McCaffrey, but I believe Sam Darnold will figure out a way to win some games here and there. Next week, Carolina takes on Philadelphia. Advantage, Carolina Panthers.

GIANTS 27 — SAINTS 21

The NY Giants got their first win of the year in overtime, overcoming a deficit and some up and down QB play from Danny Dimes. Next week, NY visits Dallas. Advantage, Dallas Cowboys.

New Orleans is very close to pushing the panic button if they don’t start winning some games soon. Next week, New Orleans visits Washington. Advantage, Washington.

EAGLES 30 — CHIEFS 42

The Chiefs were supposed to win this game, but going into the 4th quarter, this game was close, which should cause concern for Kansas City. The defense is allowing 31.25 points per game, and the offense has to make up the deficit. Next up, Kansas City takes on the Buffalo Bills at home. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

Jalen Hurts was excellent here, throwing for almost 400 yards with 2 TDs, zero picks, and rushed for 47 yards. The Eagles came out of multiple scoring drives with no points, and it made the difference at the end of this game. Next week, Philadelphia visits Carolina. Advantage, Carolina Panthers.

CHARGERS 28 — RAIDERS 14

Justin Herbert looked fantastic against this highly regarded Raiders defense. Austin Ekeler was dominant running and receiving for a total of 145 yards and 2 TDs. The Chargers are 2-0 against their division, and when it is all set and done, they might end up winning the AFC WEST. Next week, LA hosts Cleveland. Advantage, LA Chargers.

The Raiders got behind early and could not catch up. Derek Carr tried to push some throws into difficult spots and got away from the run. They should have utilized Peyton Barber and Josh Jacobs better, but this wasn’t the case. Next week, Las Vegas hosts Chicago. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders.

COLTS 27 — DOLPHINS 17

The Colts got their first win of the season against a Miami team slowly falling apart. Carson Wentz played well, throwing 2 TDs and zero picks. The running game was effective; both running backs Jonathan Taylor and Marlon Mack combined for 26 carries. Next week, Indianapolis goes to Baltimore. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

Miami was supposed to be better than what they’ve shown so far this season. They have good weapons on offense and what seems to be a solid defense. However, I still feel that Jacoby Brissett is a better QB option for Miami than Tua. The Dolphins have to commit to their running game better to give Brissett a chance. Only 8 carries for their top running back is not a recipe for success. Next week, Miami takes on Tampa Bay, and the good thing is that Brian Flores has a history of success against Tom Brady. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

BILLS 40 — TEXANS 0

Buffalo was too much for Houston and Davis Mills to handle. The Bills look like a well-balanced team; Buffalo’s offense averages 33.5 points per game and has allowed 11 points in the first 4 weeks of the season; extremely impressive. Next up, Buffalo has a primetime game visiting Kansas City. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

Embarrassing loss for Houston — and things will remain pretty bad for them unless they get Tyrod Taylor back. The Texans should probably consider bringing Cam Newton in to add some spark to their offense. Next up, Houston takes on Belicheater. Advantage, New England Patriots.

NY JETS 27 — TITANS 24

Overtime victory for the Jets — Rookie QB Zach Wilson and rookie Head Coach Robert Saleh won their first NFL career game against a very good Titans team. This was a significant victory for a struggling team looking to build some confidence and rhythm this season. Next up, the NY Jets travel to London for an overseas game against 1-3 Atlanta. Advantage, Atlanta Falcons.

Tennessee should have won this game; they had plenty of red-zone chances but came out empty. Not having Julio Jones and A.J. Brown made a huge difference here. Next up, Tennessee visits the 0-4 Jacksonville Jaguars. Advantage, Tennessee Titans

CARDINALS 37 — LA RAMS 20

Kyler Murray is slowly but surely becoming an elite QB, and Arizona looks like a legit contender. They are now 4-0 and in an excellent position to win their NFC WEST Division. Next week, Arizona hosts a wounded 49ers team. Advantage, Arizona cardinals.

Matt Stafford wasn’t really the issue here in the loss; the Rams struggled in every area of this game. Depth will be an issue all season long for LA. When they were healthy, and at full strength, they looked unstoppable. They are missing key players, and Arizona was too much to overcome. Next week, LA visits 2-2 Seattle looking to get into the running for the division. Advantage, Seattle Seahawks.

SEAHAWKS 28 — 49ERS 21

Seattle turned it up in the 3rd quarter and held San Francisco back from getting back into this game. The Seahawks caught plenty of breaks against San Francisco, and they seem to be getting a similar injury-riddled team next week against the LA Rams. Advantage, Seattle Seahawks.

San Francisco lost Jimmy G to injury early in the game, and we got to see Trey Lance come in. Lance looked shaky at first but got settled as the game went on. The injuries will continue to plague San Francisco, but the addition of Trey Lance will add a different dynamic to Kyle Shanahan’s offense. Next week, San Francisco visits Arizona. Advantage, Arizona Cardinals.

BUCCANEERS 19 — PATRIOTS 17

Tom Brady was thrown everything Belicheater could throw at him, and it almost worked for New England. Finally, it came down to a missed field goal to pull off the well-deserved victory for Tampa Bay. Next up, Tampa Bay takes on a Miami team coach by Brian Flores that knows how to rattle Tom Brady. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mac Jones played well enough to keep New England within striking distance, but once again, I feel that Cam Newton would have won this game by a couple of scores. Next week, New England visits Houston. Advantage, New England Patriots.

BROWNS 14 — VIKINGS 7

It was a tight game, but Cleveland’s run game was the difference maker here. Minnesota had no answer for the Nick Chubb slash Kareem Hunt combo. The Browns are looking like an elite team. Next week, Cleveland visits the LA Chargers. Advantage, LA Chargers.

Minnesota got away from feeding Dalvin Cook, and it cost them the game. The Vikings have got to get more balance out of their running game and rely less on Kirk Cousin throwing the ball around. Next week, Minnesota hosts the 0-4 Detroit Lions. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

PACKERS 27 — STEELERS 17

Green Bay is putting together solid wins, but their schedule is about to get a little more challenging. We will learn how far this team can go in the next few weeks. Next up, Green Bay visits Cincinnati. Advantage, Green Bay Packers.

Pittsburgh cannot provide adequate protection for an aging QB like Big Ben. However, I don’t think Roethlisberger is the main issue here; 15 carries for Najee Harris is not enough to get more out of this Pittsburgh offense. Their defense is pretty good, and they will keep them in tight-close games, but they need more from the offense to have a shot at winning the AFC NORTH. Next up, Pittsburgh Host Denver. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

RAVENS 23 — BRONCOS 7

Baltimore scored 16 unanswered points on what is supposed to be a good Denver defense. Latavius Murray is becoming a good complement to Lamar Jackson. Next week, Baltimore takes on the Colts. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

Denver’s offense looks completely different without Terry Bridgewater, and Drew Lock is obviously not the answer at QB for Denver. Next week, Denver visits Pittsburgh. Advantage, Pittsburgh Steelers.

BEARS 24 — LIONS 14

This historic rivalry is not what it once was, and both teams are trying to rebuild and get back to their winning ways. Chicago has been more consistent lately in terms of success but far from their glory days. Chicago has something special in Justin Fields, and building around him will be crucial for their future in a division with two aging Quarterbacks — and Jared Goff. Next week, Chicago has a tough test against the Raiders. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders.

Detroit cannot catch a break; they have lost some close games, and Jared Goff has actually played pretty well for them. However, they are still many pieces away from becoming contenders for the NFC NORTH. Next week, Detroit has another divisional game against Minnesota. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

*NFL WEEK 3 RECAP (2021 Season)

This was a disgustingly ugly loss — it felt like I was kicked in the nuts watching Buffalo run up the score on us.

We are three weeks into the season, and shockingly, the Defense is playing awful — simple as that. Everything surrounding this 2021 season was built around the idea that the Defense was supposed to be dominant. The talent assembled on Defense should collectively make for a top 5 Defense, but this is not the case. They cannot stop anybody through the air, and our third-down defense is pathetic.

William Jackson III is not playing up to expectations. Chase Young and Montez Sweat are not as disruptive as we thought they were about to become in 2021. Hell, our defense single handily put Josh Allen back in the MVP conversation after having his way with our D.

There were some bright spots here and there; Antonio Gibson and Heinicke showed flashes of toughness and grit, but Heinicke tried to do too much at times, and he ended up turning the ball over twice.

McKissic and Gibson combined for 15 rushing attempts — this is not good. Washington has to commit to the run and keep Heinicke from trying to force things on his own. Anywhere from 17 to 20 attempts should be the standard for our leading running back.

Both Terry McLaurin and Logan Thomas continue to be our top receivers, but we have to get Dyami Brown and Adam Humphries more involved, especially in the short-passing game.

Next Sunday, we visit Atlanta for what should be a must-win for our team. The Falcons are a dangerous team with underrated weapons; they still have a veteran QB in Matt Ryan who can exploit weak defenses. A win against the Falcons would go a long way for getting our mojo back — we have a murderous row of good teams ahead of us. We have to win — and win convincingly here.

WFT 21 — BILLS 43

COWBOYS 41 — EAGLES 21

The talking heads in sports media will rush to crown Dallas as a Super Bowl contender yet again. However, this win is just another smoke and mirrors type of victory for Dallas — beating up a young and inexperienced team. Next week, Dallas takes on a more formidable Carolina team. Advantage, Carolina Panthers.

Philadelphia is currently at 1-2 and will probably struggle to get another win for the rest of the year. Jalen Hurts needs better protection and better weapons. Next week, the Eagles will host Kansas City for what should be a bounce-back game for Patrick Mahomes. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

GIANTS 14 — FALCONS 17

The NY Giants led most of this game, but the difference here is that Atlanta has Matt Ryan, and New York has Danny Dimes. Next week, the Giants will visit New Orleans. Advantage, New Orleans Saints.

Atlanta got their first win of the season with solid Quarterback play from Matt Ryan. Next week, Atlanta will host Washington. Advantage, Washington Football Team.

RAIDERS 31 — DOLPHINS 28

This was an edge-of-your-seat, up and down game. The Raiders are winning ugly, but they are finding ways to win; they are now 3-0 and looking like a dangerous playoff team. Filling in for an injured Josh Jacobs, Peyton Barber ran for over 100 yards and 1 TD. The signing of Barber paid off big-time this weekend. On offense, the combination of Bryan Edwards, Henry Ruggs III, Hunter Renfrow, and Darren Waller is becoming one of the best-receiving groups in the league. Next Sunday, Las Vegas visits the LA Chargers for a huge divisional game. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders.

The Dolphins were leading by two scores at halftime, but the Raiders shutting Miami from scoring in the 3rd quarter was crucial for Las vegas to get back into this game. I thought Jacoby Brissett looked pretty good running Miami’s offense. I think Brissett seems to be more efficient than Tua, which Brian Flores and his staff need to consider going forward. Next Sunday, Miami takes on a winless but dangerous Colts team. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

LA RAMS 34 — BUCCANEERS 24

At this point of the season, it is safe to say that the undefeated LA Rams are the best team in all of pro football. Matt Stafford looks phenomenal week after week. He threw for over 300 yards with 4 TDs and zero picks. It was awesome seeing Desean Jackson still running past defenders for a score. Next Sunday, the Rams host the undefeated Arizona Cardinals. Advantage, LA Rams.

Tom Brady played great, throwing for over 400 yards with 1 TD and zero picks. However, Tampa Bay could not run the ball — Brady was their top rusher in this game, an insane stat. The Bucs have got to get more balance out of their offense to have a shot at repeating as Super Bowl champs. Next Sunday, Brady returns to New England. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

PACKERS 30 — 49ERS 28

The Packers played an excellent game, getting ahead of San Francisco to 17-0 by the 2nd quarter. Joe Barry’s Defense was tested in the second half of this game, but Aaron Rodgers does what he always does; with only a handful of seconds left, Rodgers put Green Bay in a position to put this game away with a field goal — which they did. Next up, Green Bay Hosts a wounded Steelers team. Advantage, Green Bay Packers.

The 49ers had some notable injuries and inactives for this game but still managed to be within striking distance of pulling off the win. Jimmy G played well enough but made some bad throws and fumbled at a crucial time of the game. I have a feeling that we will see Trey Lance on the field sooner than expected. Next up, San Francisco hosts Seattle for what should be a huge divisional game for both teams. Advantage, San Francisco 49ers.

CHARGERS 30 — CHIEFS 24

The LA Chargers delivered a powerful statement to the entire AFC WEST Division by sending Kansas City to the bottom of the standings. Justin Herbert continues to impress me. The Chargers are playing some well-balanced football. Next Sunday, LA will hosts the 3-0 Raiders for what should be a tough and close game. Advantage, Las Vegas Raiders

Patrick Mahomes is an excellent QB; however, he seems to be playing from behind in most games this season. In addition, the Chief Defense looks shaky and unreliable. Next Sunday, Kansas City visits Philadelphia for what should be a very winnable game. Advantage, Kansas City Chiefs.

SAINTS 28 — PATRIOTS 13

The Saints needed this win badly after last week’s humiliating loss to Carolina. Jameis Winston made a few wild, head-scratching plays but got lucky not to cost New Orleans the win here. Next Sunday, New Orleans hosts the NY Giants. Advantage, New Orleans Saints.

Mac Jones played like an inexperienced rookie; he was sloppy and ineffective throughout the entire game. I think New England moving on from Cam Newton is proving to had been a big mistake. Next Sunday. New England welcomes back Tom Brady for what should be a long miserable night for Belicheater and company. Advantage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

RAVENS 19 — LIONS 17

Justin Tucker kicked a field goal for 66 yards to edge out the Lions and keep Detroit winless. Baltimore has put together back-to-back victories in extremely close games. Next up, Baltimore visits 3-0 Denver. Advantage, Baltimore.

The Lions lost another heartbreaking game. Jared Goff is actually playing pretty well for Detroit, but it will take some serious rebuilding around him to get Detroit to become a legit contender in the NFC NORTH. Next up, Detroit will battle their oldest and biggest rival, Chicago, for what should be a season-defining game for both teams. Advantage, Detroit Lions.

BROWNS 26 — BEARS 6

Cleveland waited until the 4th quarter to explode offensively all over a worn-out Chicago team. The Browns struggled to get past an underrated Bears team, and things will get tougher next week when they visit Minnesota. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

Justin Fields had a rough day with barely 80 yards of total offense from this rookie QB. Chicago’s defense keeps them in games, but it will be a long-rough season for Chicago if Andy Dalton doesn’t return soon. Next week, Chicago takes on their old Division rival Detroit. Advantage, Detroit Lions.

VIKINGS 30 — SEAHAWKS 17

The Minnesota Vikings look like a team beginning to find their rhythm. Kirk Cousins was solid, throwing for over 300 yards with 3 TDs and zero picks. The Vikings scored 23 unanswered points and made it look easy. Next up, Minnesota hosts Cleveland for what should be an explosive game. Advantage, Minnesota Vikings.

Seattle could not get anything going on all sides of the ball. The NFC WESTis loaded with good teams, and Seattle needs to start winning games, or they will be out of playoff contention sooner than expected. Next up, Seattle visits san Francisco for what should be a must-win game for Seattle. Advantage, San Francisco 49ers.

BRONCOS 26 — NY JETS 0

The Denver Broncos made easy work out of rookie QB Zach Wilson. Denver is now 3-0 for the season and looking like the surprise team of the year. Next week, Denver will face their toughest challenge so far this season against Baltimore. If Denver wins, they should become immediate contenders in the AFC — but I doubt they can beat Baltimore. Advantage, Baltimore Ravens.

The NY Jets look like they might go winless this season. This year, the only winnable game I see for them is against Jacksonville on December 26; It will be the battle of two rookie head coaches against two rookie first-round Quarterbacks. But who knows, a lot can happen between now and December 26. Next week, the NY Jets will have to slow down Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

PANTHERS 24 — TEXANS 9

Sam Darnold continues to impress me with his new team, throwing for over 300 yards and rushing for 2 TDs. Next week, Carolina visits the overrated Dallas Cowboys for what should be the game where Dallas gets exposed for the pretenders they really are. Advantage, Carolina Panthers.

Houston needs to seriously consider bringing in Cam Newton or activate Deshaun Watson if they want to save their season. It is just not looking good for them right now. Next week, Houston visits Buffalo for what should be a complete massacre. Advantage, Buffalo Bills.

TITANS 25 — COLTS 16

Ryan Tannehill overcame throwing 2 picks to pull away from the Colts. Derrick Henry is probably the toughest running back to stop in the NFL. Next week, Tennessee will have an easy day feasting on the NY Jets. Advantage, Tennessee Titans.

This AFC SOUTH division is all about Tennessee at this stage of the season, and the Colts could still contend if they can just figure out a way to protect Carson Wentz better and get their offense going a little better. Their kicker Rodrigo Blankenship seems pretty reliable — they can count on some field goals. Next week, the Colts visit a hungry Miami team looking to start adding some wins. Advantage, Miami Dolphins.

BENGALS 24 — STEELERS 10

The Cincinnati Bengals are putting together some solid wins this season. They dominated the Steelers from beginning to end. Ja’marr Chase is quietly becoming one of the best receiving threats in the NFL and a favorite target for Joe Burrow. Next up, Cincinnati will take on Trevor Lawrence and the winless Jacksonville Jaguars. Advantage, Cincinnati Bengals.

The Steelers were just awful. The OL for Pittsburgh does not provide adequate protection for an older and static quarterback like Big Ben. The run game is non-existent — they have to get more out of their running backs; Najee Harris was their best receiving target with over 100 yards receiving. Next up, Pittsburgh visits an inspired Green Bay team fresh from their come from behind win over the 49ers. Advantage, Green Bay Packers.

CARDINALS 31 — JAGUARS 19

The Arizona Cardinals did easy work out of Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer. However, the highlight of this game was the 68 yard missed field goal attempt that Jacksonville ran back for 109 yards and the score. Gusty call, but not very smart from Arizona. Next week is the battle of the undefeated teams between Arizona and the LA Rams. Advantage, LA Rams.

It really does look like Jacksonville will finish the season winless. The schedule is pretty brutal, but as the saying goes, anything can happen in the NFL on any given Sunday. Next week, Urban Meyer reunites with Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Advantage, Cincinnati Bengals.

*NFL WEEK 2 RECAP (2021 Season)

Insane and ridiculously wild finish, the Giants were a difficult, scrappy, tough team to play, but we found a way to win. This is precisely what good teams do; find ways to win close games. Especially, Divisional challenging games.

It is obvious to me that NY. Giants have a good Defense, and they gave us a hard time moving the ball around, but Taylor Heinicke was able to rally back and get Washington in a position to put this game away.

Heinicke threw for over 300 yards with 2 TDs and 1 pick. His TD pass to backup Tight End Ricky Seals-Jones was spectacular. The offensive game plan to spread the ball around to our top receiving weapons like Terry McLaurin, Logan Thomas, Dyami Brown, and Adam Humphries was effective, but not where it needs to be; however, it is only week 2. This group will get better as the season progresses.

I was happy to see J.D. McKissic more involved in the receiving game, adding to a more balanced attack from our offense. But our running game was subdued, with Antonio Gibson only carrying 13 times. The rushing attempts need to increase in volume.

Our Defense looked anemic yet again, which is puzzling, considering all the talent assembled. My biggest issue was the lack of pressure on Daniel Jones — When the protection was solid, Daniel Jones looked pretty good. They gave Jones lots of room to throw the ball. This issue has to be addressed and fixed ASAP.

Next Sunday, Washington takes on a dangerous Buffalo team with a dynamic QB in Josh Allen. This is the type of game where our Defense should shine. Advantage, Buffalo (on paper), but my heart believes in Washington to get it done.

WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM 30 — NY GIANTS 29

COWBOYS 20 — LA CHARGERS 17

Dallas got lots of help from the refs here. The Chargers got robbed with a bunch of bad calls, especially a sack call that wasn’t a sack. Dallas will crumble at some point this season. Next week, Dallas takes on Philly on Monday Night. Advantage, Dallas.

Like I said before, the refs stole this game from LA — I’m sure that Justin Herbert will get better as the season progresses, and they will contend in the AFC. Next week, the Chargers visit Kansas City for what should be an exciting Divisional game. Advantage, Kansas City.

49ERS 17 — EAGLES 11

San Francisco had to adjust after losing running back Mosfert for the season. As a result, the offense struggled to get their running game going; however, Jimmy G relied on his legs in some crucial plays to keep the 49ers driving forward. Next week, Green Bay is visiting, and we will get a better sense of how the 49ers adjust to all the injuries already piling up on their roster. Advantage, Green bay.

The Eagles are all about Jalen Hurts; he seems to be their most dynamic and their most dangerous player at this early point in the season. Next week, they visit Dallas on Monday night for a big divisional game. Advantage, Dallas.

RAIDERS 26 — STEELERS 17

I was initially very concerned about Josh Jacobs’s injury, and the signing of Peyton Barber did not really inspire much confidence in the running game. However, Derek Carr operated this Vegas offense effectively, throwing for 382 yards with 2 TDs and zero interceptions. Also, Henry Ruggs III is starting to get more involved in the passing game — getting Ruggs involved and getting Jacobs back healthy will be crucial for this team to contend in the AFC WEST. Next Sunday, Vegas hosts a Philadelphia team that lacks a balanced offense. Advantage, Las Vegas.

Pittsburgh was ineffective running the ball here. The Steelers have to get more balance out of their running game to have a chance in the AFC NORTH. Next week, the Steelers host Cincinnati with many questions on how the Bengals are running their offense. Advantage, Pittsburgh.

LA RAMS 27 — COLTS 24

It wasn’t a pretty victory, but good teams find ways to win. The Rams scored late in the 4th quarter to put this game away. LA has got to get more out of their running game — the combination between Darrell Henderson Jr and Sony Michel needs to become more effective. Next Sunday, an overrated Tampa Bay team is visiting LA Advantage, LA Rams.

The Colts were looking good until Carson Wentz got hurt, and their offense had to settle for field goals. Next Sunday, Indianapolis visits a resurgent Titans team. Advantage, Tenessee.

CARDINALS 34 — VIKINGS 33

Kyler Murray is electric; he threw for 400 yards with 3 TDs and 2 picks against a tough Vikings Defense. Next up, the Cardinals have an easier matchup against Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. Advantage, Arizona.

Anti-vaxxer Kirk Cousins, for once, did not cost his team this game. Instead, Minnesota struggled to contain Kyler Murray and company. Next week, Minnesota takes on a wounded Seahawks team looking to keep the Vikings winless. Advantage, Seattle.

TITANS 33 — SEAHAWKS 30

Tennessee pulled a victory out of nowhere. They looked like the dangerous playoff team we saw last season. Derrick Henry was dominant here, rushing for 182 yards and 55 receiving. Next up, the Titans host a Colts team with a questionable Carson Wentz. Advantage, Tennessee.

The Seahawks did not have an answer for Derrick Henry, and next week they take on another tough running back in Minnesota’s Delvin Cook. However, I think Seattle will make the necessary adjustments. Advantage, Seattle.

RAVENS 36 — CHIEFS 35

Lamar Jackson finally found a way to beat Patrick Mahomes. It was a thrilling game to the end. It came down to gutsy plays from both teams, but it was Baltimore’s night. Next week, the Ravens Host Jared Goff and the Lions. Advantage, Baltimore.

Kansas City let this game slip away as they got away from the run. Clyde Edwards-Helaire has got to get more than 13 carries per game. The Chiefs cannot put it all on Patrick Mahomes and the passing game; a better-balanced offense will be needed if Kansas City wants to get back to the Super Bowl this season. Next week, the Chiefs take on a dangerous LA Chargers team. Advantage, Kansas City.

PACKERS 35 — LIONS 17

Aaron Rodgers silenced all his detractors with this Monday night performance; Rodgers threw for 255 yards with 4 TDs and zero picks. It was a shaky start for Green Bay, but Green Bay settled down and began to move the ball by the second half. However, I’m not sold on the Packers Defense under new coordinator Joe Barry. Next week, Green Bay takes on an injury-filled 49ers team. Advantage, Green Bay.

Jared Goff looked good and poised in the first half, but he began to unravel under Green Bay’s defensive pressure in the second half. Detroit got away from the run and relied on Goff for most of their rushing yards; this is not a good recipe for success. Next week, the Lions take on Baltimore. Advantage, Baltimore

PANTHERS 26 SAINTS 7

Sam Darnold continues to impress me, and he seems to be getting more comfortable under this new offense. Christian McCaffrey and DJ Moore are finding solid balance with their new QB. Next up, Carolina visits Houston on Thursday night. Advantage, Carolina.

The saints were completely dominated here. Carolina took all of New Orleans’ top weapons like Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill out of this game. Next Sunday, New Orleans visit Belicheater and his overrated rookie QB.; I think the saints will rebound here. Advantage, New Orleans.

BILLS 35 — DOLPHINS 0

Buffalo made a statement here by shutting out Miami, and this Bills team seems like the team we all expected them to be this season. Next Sunday, Washington is coming to town, and it will not be an easy day for Buffalo. Advantage, Washington.

Miami had nothing to offer here, and to make things worse, Tua got hurt but seems to be ok for next week. At some point, Miami needs to reach out to Cam Newton for a chance to save their season. Next Sunday, Miami visits the undefeated Raiders. Advantage, Las Vegas.

PATRIOTS 25 — NY JETS 6

New England had their way with this rebuilding NY. Jets team. Next week, the Patriots take on a more balanced New Orleans team that looks to rebound after losing to Carolina. Advantage, New Orleans.

Zach Wilson had a terrible game, throwing 4 interceptions and struggling to move the offense. I do not expect much this season from this rookie QB and rookie head coach. Next Sunday, things will not get any easier for NY as they visit the 2-0 Broncos. Advantage, Denver.

BRONCOS 23 — JAGUARS 13

Terry Bridgewater seems to be finding his place in Denver. The Broncos are 2-0 and playing good football these first two weeks of the season. The balance on offense between Courtland Sutton, Javonte Williams, and Melvin Gordon III is pretty solid. Next up, Denver has a chance to go up 3-0 against a struggling NY. Jets. Advantage, Denver.

Urban Meyer is learning pretty fast how different the NFL and the College game are. Meyer better get himself comfortable with losing because it will not get easier for them. Next up, Jacksonville takes on Kyler Murray and the Cardinal. Advantage, Arizona.

BUCCANEERS 48 — FALCONS 25

Brady threw 5 TDs and connected twice with Mike Evans and once with Rob Gronkowski — Gronk now has 4 TDs in two games. Next up, Tampa Bay will face their toughest test so far against Sean McVay’s well-balanced LA Rams team. Advantage, LA Rams.

Atlanta put up a good fight, but they just ran out of firepower to keep up with Tampa Bay. Next Sunday, the Falcons have a good chance to get their first win against Danny Dimes. Advantage, Atlanta.

BROWNS 31 — TEXANS 21

This game was closer than the final score suggests. Cleveland scoring on every quarter and keeping Houston scoreless on the third quarter made the difference here. Next Sunday, Cleveland takes on a Chicago team with questions at QB advantage, Cleveland

The Texans struggled to get more out of Mark Ingram, and QB play was lackluster. Nevertheless, Houston was still pretty much into this game until the end. Next Sunday, the dangerous combination of Sam Darnold and Christian McCaffrey is coming to town. Advantage, Carolina.

BEARS 20 — BENGALS 17

Andy Dalton got hurt after throwing a TD to Allen Robinson in the first quarter. Justin Fields came in and did not do much. However, Chicago’s Special Teams and Defense chipped in with scores to pull this victory. Next Sunday, Chicago Visits Cleveland, and it will be a challenging game for the Bears if Andy Dalton doesn’t play. Advantage, Cleveland.

Joe Burrow’s 3 interceptions and some of the questionable play calls on the offense were the difference maker here. Next Sunday, Cincinnati visits a dangerous Steelers team. Advantage, Pittsburgh.
