In this current streaming era, dominated by hit singles, TikToks, and lip-synchers, where rock and alternative albums often go unnoticed, Liam Gallagher and John Squire have defied the trend by delivering a proper Rock ‘n’ Roll album packed with great songs.
Initially, I thought the lyrics were unimpressive, but after a few listens, they grew on me, and I began to vibe with the album. It feels reminiscent of an early Stone Roses album. I was fortunate enough to see Liam and John live at the Brooklyn Paramount in April 2024; it was a biblical concert, (to quote Liam). Although the entire concert setlist was from this new album, with zero Oasis or Stone Roses tunes. So I was disappointed about that. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to see Liam Gallagher live in concert finally.

This album is a well-crafted collection of songs in terms of chords and overall structure. It boasts strong 60s guitar influences — it is bluesy, psychedelic, and refreshing. Simply put, this is a unique collector’s album, tailor-made for fans of Oasis and The Stone Roses. Liam is in top form doing his thing, and John is in top form as a guitar player. Here is my track-by-track breakdown:
TRACK LIST
1 — RAISE YOUR HANDS: This is a perfect stadium anthem tune. While I wouldn’t have chosen it to start the album, it remains a fun and upbeat track.
2 — MARS TO LIVERPOOL: A well-put-together song and probably my favorite on the album. The line “The journey is the trip I say if your travel agent’s cool” is perfect.
3 — ONE DAY AT A TIME: This track should have been the album’s opener. It’s a grower. I particularly like the line, “You should’ve fucked me when you had the chance.”
4 — I’M A WHEEL: The most bluesy tune on the album, with a hilarious Star Wars reference.
5 — JUST ANOTHER RAINBOW: The first promotional single, which grew on me over time. John Squire’s guitar solo is incredible.
6 — LOVE YOU FOREVER: Another grower. The opening lyrics, “Growing old disgracefully, I got time. So much younger than I used to be, I feel fine,” resonates with me strongly.
7 — MAKE IT UP AS YOU GO ALONG: A catchy tune; I love the “thoughts and prayers” part followed by “fuck you too.”
8 — YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE: The drums and guitars give this track a unique sound compared to the rest of the album. It feels like a song that would fit on one of Liam’s solo albums.
9 — I’M SO BORED: If I had to pick my least favorite track from this album, this song would be it. But it still rocks.
10 — MOTHER NATURE’S SONG: A beautiful track with strong 60s/70s vibes, making it a perfect tune to end this wonderfully sounding album.
